Divided into two categories, urban and digital performances, the selection of local shows is open from July 5th to 25th. Check the regulation below:
SELECTION OF SHOWS - 28TH PORTO ALEGRE IN SCENA
REGULATION
1. The holding of this call is exclusively linked to the performances of the city of Porto Alegre for the programming of the 28th PORTO ALEGRE EM CENA, an international festival of performing arts, held from October 19th to 31st, 2021 virtually and outdoors .
2. This call aims to select proposals for unpublished or unpublished artistic works to be presented in public spaces, open to the public and that do not generate agglomerations. As well as artistic projects produced for the virtual environment during the period of social distancing, unpublished or not.
3. Works will be selected in two categories:
3.1. Urban Performances: Urban and human performances/installations that take place outdoors in order to surprise passers-by, passengers and/or residents of the surroundings where they are held. Activities with or without the participation of people, that are in a public space with free access and that are designed not to promote agglomerations. Works of art that interfere in the urban scene of the city of Porto Alegre. Up to 5 (five) works will be selected.
3.2. Digital performances: Digital shows/performances that were developed during the period of pandemic and social isolation to be broadcast on the Festival's digital channels. Activities that can be presented live or previously recorded that will be made available on a scheduled date with a 24-hour stay online. Up to 5 (five) works will be selected.
4. The selection committee of the shows for the local show will be composed of: two nominated by the organization of the 28th Porto Alegre em Cena, two nominated by Sated/RS, two nominated by DAD - Department of Dramatic Art of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and two nominated by the State University of Rio Grande do Sul. The deliberation of the commission is sovereign in the decisions about the evaluation criteria in the choice of the shows.
4.1 The selection committee comprises:

5. To register, shows/performances must send the following documents:
5.1. Urban Performances:
a) written or video proposal;
b) technical form – composed 70% of registered professionals;
c) reference images on how the performance will take place so that the evaluation committee can understand in the best way possible how the work will be and its relationship with the public;

5.2. Digital performances:
a) full release;
b) technical form – composed 70% of registered professionals;
c) full video link;
d) promotional photos of the work in high resolution (300 dpi);

6.1. Urban Performances: R$10,000.00 (ten thousand reais) fee for two performances. This amount includes all expenses for the production of work, transportation, food, among other costs necessary for the performance of the show, as well as the relevant copyright releases related to text, image and sound.
6.2. Digital performances: R$ 3,000.00 (three thousand reais) fee for an exhibition. This amount must include the entire production of the work, among other expenses for the performance of the show, as well as the relevant copyright releases referring to text, image and sound.
6.3. Selected groups and artists must present an Invoice to receive the payment of a company with a Code of Economic Activity compatible with the artistic service. Groups represented by third parties must submit a representation contract.
7. In case of presentations in the city's streets, parks or squares, the Festival's organization is responsible for requests to release the use of public space. In case of non-release by the City of Porto Alegre, the group must arrange another suitable location with the festival team.
8. The following schedule is established:
– 07/05/2021 – registration opening
– 07/25/2021 – closing of registrations
– From 07/26/2021 to 08/06/2021 – Selection by the committee
– 08/09/2021 – disclosure of selected projects
– October 19th to 31st, 2021 – Festival realization
9. Candidates enrolled in this selection automatically declare to be aware of and in agreement with the terms of this call.
10. Cases not covered by this regulation will be evaluated by the organization of the 28th Porto Alegre em Cena.
